Woman identified in Gainesville homicide investigation

The identity of a murdered woman at a Gainesville apartment building, has now been identified. The Gainesville Police Department say that on Tuesday morning, Lilian "MaryJane" Andrade, age 26, of Gainesville, was found dead in the parking lot of the apartment complex. 

Cpl. Jessica Van with the Gainesville Police Department said the body was first discovered at about 2:30 a.m.at at the apartment complex at 600 Tate Street. Tate Street is located off Pearl Nix Parkway on the west side of the city. 

​Police are treating the death as a case of homicide.  Van said foul play is suspected.

The Gainesville Police Department and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation are jointly investigating the incident. Both the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, as well as the Gainesville Police Department, took to social media to ask anyone with information to contact them. According to the GBI post on social media, "We are seeking the public’s help for any information about Andrade’s whereabouts on the evening of Monday, March 29, 2021 and any information about her death."
