Spring Break is just one week away for most area school systems and the region races for northeast Georgia teams are heating up as well.

Several crucial series will begin on Monday around the area and in virtually every region involving area teams in the AccessWDUN coverage area.

(Check below for the full schedule of games for Monday and Tuesday involving northeast Georgia area teams.)

Gainesville is still trying to climb out of last place in Region 6-7A and will travel to Denmark on Monday looking to split their season series.

In Region 8-6A, No. 1 Buford continues to dominate while Habersham Central, which sits in third, opens a key three-game series at home against second-place Winder-Barrow on Monday.

Jackson County in Region 8-5A continues to impress. The Panthers are tied for fourth and will open a huge series on Monday against No. 5 Greenbrier on the road. Meanwhile, Johnson will travel to No. 3 Loganville as the Knights try to get back into the region race.

It will be a big week in Region 8-4A once again. No.6 Flowery Branch and  No. 4 Jefferson, who flip-flopped their rankings, open a three-game series in Jefferson with the Falcons trying to recover from a tough three-game sweep at the hands of No. 1 North Oconee last week. Chestatee opens a three-game series with Madison County at home and with a sweep can pull into a tie for fourth place with the Red Raiders.

In Region 7-3A, No.2 North Hall, which dropped a spot from last week, and White County are tied atop the standings but the Trojans have the week off from region play this  week. The Warriors, however, will open a three-game series at Gilmer on Monday.

No. 4 Cherokee Bluff and Dawson County open a series in Dawsonville and West Hall takes on Lumpkin County beginning on Monday in Oakwood. Bluff coach Jeremy Kemp recently surpassed the 300-win plateau as a high school coach.

Banks County in Region 8-2A finds itself atop the region and also into the rankings for the first time this season. But the ninth-ranked Leopards are off this week while Rabun County opens a big series on the road against No. 8 Elbert County on Tuesday.

On Tuesday, North Hall will play host to Class 4A No. 1 North Oconee at Lynn Cottrell Field in what should be a fun non-region showdown.
