JEFFERSON — Jefferson won its 10th straight game with a 16-0, four inning drubbing of Woodward Academy on Saturday at home.
Four pitchers -- Rem Maxwell, Jake Walker, J.J. Rapp, Landon Richards -- combined on a one-hitter as each threw just one inning apiece without walking a single batter.
Meanwhile, the offense pounded out 12 hits and scored in every inning. The Dragons opened with a three-run first and added four runs in the second and two in the third. They put the game away with seven runs in the fourth.
Mason Cooper had a huge game with three hits, including a double and a home run, and drove in seven runs to lead the offense. Rapp, Jase Peoples, and Bowman Horn each had two hits
The Class 4A sixth-ranked Dragons (16-0, 9-0 Region 8-4A) will open a three-game series with No. 2 Flowery Branch (12-5, 3-3 Region 8-4A) on Monday at home.
