The City of Lawrenceville is looking to expand and grow the downtown area. The Lawrenceville Downtown Master Plan is looking at a strategy for expansion and growth as a mixed-use community.

According to a website dedicated to the project, “changes in the study area over the years have highlighted the need to establish a new vision for this important center of Gwinnett County.” It goes on to say that the updated plan intends to serve as a guide for positive changes that benefits the immediate area.

The master plan update is being funded in part by the Atlanta Regional Commission’s Livable Centers Initiative program. They hope to develop a proposal that is vibrant and blends residential, commercial, cultural, and entertainment space all into the downtown area.

The public is being asked to provide feedback on what those changes will look like. The input of the community will help guide the vision of Downtown Lawrenceville as the plan is put together. Anyone who lives and works in Lawrenceville, or surrounding Gwinnett, is being asked to take part in a survey. The survey will be open through April 2 and the link is: https://planningatpond.com/lawrenceville-lci-update.
