MACON — Towns County boys coach Rob Benson said he knew his team was at least a semifinal team.

But he credits some tough non-region games and a solid Region 8-A schedule that prepared the Indians to go all the way.

"There were several games where I saw us a definite Final Four basketball team," he said. "Against Lincloln a couple of times, Banks County, Collins Hill, Anderson Christian, those were all losses, but I saw us as a Final Four team. Now, you get this on top of it."

Senior guard Kolby Moss, who scored 14 points and pulled 14 rebounds, said his team was ready to live up to the hype.

"Back home, they didn't think we could live up to the hype," Kolby Moss said. We definitely lived up to the hype, so we were ready."

Towns County's Kolby Moss (15) raises the state championship after the Indians knocked off defending state champion Hancock Central 64-60 for the Class A Public title on Saturday at the Macon Coliseum.
