Emergency crews find no hazard at Foundation Food Group after more leak concerns

Posted 8:19PM on Thursday 11th March 2021 ( 3 years ago )

Just six weeks after a chemical leak killed six employees at Foundation Food Group, today emergency crews responded to another concern at the poultry plant.

Around 4:30 p.m. today, Hall County Fire Services responded to a call about a potential leak. According to Zach Brackett, division chief, they thoroughly investigated the poultry plant following a refrigerant service call earlier in the day, which was suspected of causing another leak at the location. According to Brackett, they evaluated the scene and found no hazards, including ammonia or nitrogen, to be present.

It was in January that five men and one woman were the fatal victims of a liquid nitrogen leak while on shift at the plant.
