A burglary suspect was found with stolen items, as well as illegal drugs. On Tuesday, March 2, authorities investigated a burglary report in Jackson County. The suspect, Bobby Seagraves, was said to have taken firearms, lawn equipment and power tools.
When investigators with the Jackson County Sherriff’s Office and Appalachian Regional Drug Enforcement Office (ARDEO) located Seagraves, he was at a residence on Jarrett Rd. in Nicholson. According to a press release issued today from the GBI and ARDEO, some of the stolen tools were discovered in his vehicle. He also had methamphetamine on him, as well.
A search warrant was secured for the house where he was found and inside authorities confiscated more methamphetamine and oxycodone pills. The homeowner, Johnny Strickland, was arrested, as well. The number of drugs totaled around 18 grams of methamphetamine and 125 oxycodone pills.
Both men were arrested at that time for possession of methamphetamine and violation of possessing schedule II narcotics. Seagraves was also charged with theft by taking and burglary in the 2nd degree.
The investigation is active and ongoing.
