A majority of the Hall County Government buildings and facilities will reopen to the public on March 1.

This reopening means that members of the public will no longer be required to schedule an appointment for various services, according to a press release sent from a government spokesperson.

One of those buildings opening fully to the public is the Hall County Government Center. Appointments will still be available for the Tax Commissioner's office for those wishing to schedule one.

The government center transitioned to an appointment-early basis at the beginning of the year due to an increase in cases of COVID-19. As cases have gone down, appointment hours have expanded.

“We are continuing to see COVID-19 statistical data improve for the Hall County community,” said Hall County Administrator Jock Connell. “As has been the case throughout the pandemic, we have carefully monitored that data and believe this is the right next step as we provide crucial services to our citizens.”

Hall County community centers will also resume normal hours beginning March 1. Community centers will be open to the public between the hours of 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday. Fitness centers and walking tracks will still require an appointment.

The North Hall Technology Center inside of the North Hall Community Center will also fully reopen March 1.

A couple of exceptions to the full reopenings include the Hall County Animal Shelter and Hall County Extension Office, which will still operate on an appointment-only basis for now.

Community members can still access services on Hall County’s website, www.hallcounty.org, as needed. Online motor vehicle services, including vehicle registration renewals and the payment of insurance fines, are available through the Online Payments button on the website. That is also where citizens can pay their property tax, renew their business license, and access more services.
