GAINESVILLE — The Lakeview Academy girls won a second half shootout with Johnson at home on Friday.
The two teams’ combined for five second half goals after a scoreless first half with the Lady Lions holding on for a 3-2 win.
Millie Filson scored twice and McKenna Filson once for Lakeview (2-2) which has won two straight.
After the scoreless first half, Millie Filson scored off an assist from Hannah Perkins to get things started. But Johnson's Nancy Torres scored to tie the match at 1 with 8:30 left to play.
McKenna Filson scored off a free kick and Millie Filson scored off an assist from McKenna Filson to give Lakeview a 3-1 lead. The Lady Knights’ got within 3-2 on a goal from Madison Brooks in the final 10 seconds.
Lakeview Academy next travels to Chestatee on Tuesday.
Johnson (1-4) travels to Greater Atlanta Christian on Tuesday.
