No injuries reported in Buford power regulator station fire

A fire Friday, Feb. 19 damaged a Buford power regulator station on Riverside Road NE off Highway 20.

Gwinnett Fire and Emergency Services crews were called to the scene just before 4 p.m. and found four to five large power regulator boxes on fire, according to a release from the department.

Sawnee EMC was able to shut down the power station so firefighters could extinguish the flames. It took around 30 minutes for firefighters to get the blaze under control.

No injuries were reported as a result of the fire.

Four or five power regulator boxes were damaged in the fire at the Sawnee EMC power regulator station in Buford.
