Jackson EMC releases contractors to help restore power following winter storms

Jackson EMC has released 55 contractors to help restore power in Kentucky, Louisiana and Mississippi due to damage caused by recent winter storms.

According to a press release from Jackson EMC, the contractors will help Entergy in Baton Rouge, LA, Southwestern Electric Power Company in Shreveport, LA and Jackson Energy in London, KY.

The release states Jackson EMC uses contractors for construction, maintenance and vegetation management. The contactors who are being released to help with restoration efforts in Mississippi are overhead line construction crews. Those release to assist in Louisiana are maintenance and vegetation management crews.

Jackson EMC is the largest electric cooperative in Georgia and one of the largest in the nation. It’s headquartered in Jefferson, GA. The cooperative serves more than 240,000 meters on 14,000 miles of energized wire.
