Just days after the state reported more than one million Georgians have now received their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine, Gov. Brian Kemp will visit Gainesville to discuss vaccine distribution in the Latino community.
An announcement from the governor's office said Kemp and other state officials will sit down with local community leaders to talk about vaccine hesitancy and equity in the Latino population.
The meeting will be held at the Gainesville Ballroom on Atlanta Highway.
Joining Kemp will be Georgia Department of Public Health Commissioner Dr. Kathleen Toomey and Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner John King.
AccessWDUN will attend a press conference following the meeting and have an update later today.
On Friday afternoon, the vaccination update from the state showed 1,408,232 total COVID vaccine doses administered across the state. That number represents 76.71% of all doses shipped to the state thus far.
