A Hoschton man was arrested on charges related to the arson of an Alabama church in January.
According to WEIS Radio in Alabama, 33-year-old Joshua Troy Bagley was arrested on January 23 after being released from the hospital. His arrest came one day after the fire at Arrington's Chapel in Piedmont, Alabama, less than four miles from the Georgia state line.
According to reports, deputies with the Cherokee County, Alabama Sheriff's Office responded to reports of a suspicious person on County Road 183 when they found the church burning. Bagley was located soon after and taken to the hospital. He has since been released on bond.
The church building was a total loss. According to the sheriff's office, Bagley faces one charge of arson in the 2nd degree.
