MACON — After winning 18 straight Traditional wrestling titles from 2001 to 2018, it has been a long three-year climb back to the top for perennial power Jefferson.

But the Dragons finally got started on a new streak as they dominated the Class 4A tournament, capturing their first title since 2018 on Friday. They made it a sweep of the 2021 titles after winning the 4A State Duals two weeks ago.

East Hall finished 12th with 73 points and Chestatee was 36th with 11 points.

The Dragons put eight to Friday’s finals and piled up 231 points, nearly 100 ahead of second place North Oconee (139). Branch sits third with 128 points and had three advance to the finals.

The Dragons had three individual champions in Chaz McDonald (106-pounds), Davis Dollar (113), and Luke Cochran (170).
