A man from Dawsonville was killed in a wreck Sunday afternoon in Dawson County.

According to a press release from Georgia State Patrol Post 37, Jerry Cecil Fricks, 28, of Dawsonville, was traveling south on SR 53 at 5:46 p.m. on a Suzuki dirt bike when the accident happened.

A Ford F-250 driven by Kyle Sullivan, 35, of Dawsonville, was heading north on SR 53 and was attempting to turn left onto War Hill Park Road. When the F-250 made the turn, Fricks struck the right side of the truck.

The dirt bike came to rest at the intersection of War Hill Park Road and SR 53.

Fricks was transported to an area hospital where he later died. Sullivan and two passengers in the F-250 were uninjured.

The release stated the dirt bike did not have headlights.
