The driver of an SUV was killed in a traffic accident in Barrow County Thursday morning. The Georgia State Patrol has now identified that individual as  Lauranne Teyssier, 26 years old from Athens.

The driver of the tractor-trailer, Richard Fearing, 66 of Fayetteville, NC is facing charges in the accident. He did not have any injuries.

The Georgia State Patrol said troopers from the Athens Post were called to the scene at SR 316 and Barber Creek Road in Statham just after 7 a.m.

Investigators said a Kenworth tractor-trailer was entering SR 316 from Barber Creek Road, making an attempt to enter the eastbound lanes of the highway.

As he was waiting for traffic, the trailer of the rig blocked the westbound lanes of SR 316 and a westbound Honda HRV struck the side of the trailer.

Troopers said the driver of the Honda HRV died at the scene.
