Football: North Hall's season ends with 56-17 playoff loss to Carver-Atl

ATLANTA — This one got out of control quickly. 

Carver-Atlanta (8-2, Region 5-3A No. 2 seed) scored 37 first-half points en route to a 56-17 rout of North Hall (6-5, Region 7-3A No. 3 seed) in the first round of the Class 3A playoffs at Henderson Stadium on Friday. 

The Trojans struggled to find the endzone despite rushing for 237 yards. The Tigers, on the other hand, had no issues.

Quintavious Lockett nine times for 142 yards and four touchdowns, including a 25-yard run in the first quarter, and a three-yard run and a 35-yard run in the second quarter to go up 37-3 at halftime. 

Bryce Bowen, who was 13-of-15 passing for 233 yards tossed a 31 yards pass to Deandre Buchannon in the first quarter, and one more to Tobias Robinson in the third. 

North Hall's points came on a Luke Brown 45-yard field goal with 8:57 left in the first quarter. Tate Ruth rushed for an 18-yard touchdown in the third quarter, and Puryear added a one-yard score late in the fourth quarter. 

Kevin Rochester was held scoreless but rushed 22 times for 79 yards, while Ruth finished with 72 yards on eight carries.
