GAINESVILLE — North Hall won its fifth-straight game and also clinched a playoff berth after routing Gilmer 47-6 on Friday at The Brickyard.
The Trojans (6-2, 4-0 Region 7-3A) piled up 403 yards rushing as eight different players carried the ball, with four finishing with 60-plus yards for the game.
Senior running back Kevin Rochester came in 9th in the state in rushing but was limited to just 4 carries for 18 yards as the Trojans get ready for a three-game sprint to the finish with Dawson County and Cherokee Bluff for the region title.
Quarterback Bradford Puryear paced the Trojans with 103 yards and three touchdowns on just 7 carries. Hunter Riley had 87 yards and scored twice, Jeremiah Tealander had 67 yards, and Ajay Jones had 61 yards and two touchdowns for North Hall.
Neither team threw a pass and Gilmer (2-5, 0-4 Region 7-3A) did not score its lone touchdown until 30 seconds were left in the game.
