Volleyball: LCA advances to 2nd round GAPPS state tourney

The Lanier Christian Academy volleyball team beat Cherokee Christian, 3-1, on Tuesday to advance to the second round of the GAPPS state tournament.

After splitting the first two sets, 25-17, 19-25, the Lightning dominated the next two matches, 25-14, 25-18, to roll to the victory. 

Emma Kate Kalinauskas led LCA with 10 aces, 7 kills, and 3 blocks. Nadia Lulinski had 4 aces, 11 kills, and 16 digs. Holly Ann Keefer had 10 kills, 22 assists, and 8 digs. Evelyn Keefer had 3 aces, 9 kills, and 9 digs.

The Lighting will play Fideles Christian Academy at 4 p.m. at home on Thursday.
