BUFORD — No. 1 Buford's defense was like a brick wall Friday night at Tom Riden Stadium, and Habersham Central kept running into it.
The Wolves (5-1, 2-0 Region 8-6A) held Habersham Central (2-4, 0-2 Region 8-6A) to just 64 total yards of offense, while totaling 436 yards to blow past the Raiders, 58-0.
Buford opened the game with some flash from Ashton Daniels and Isaiah Bond. The senior quarterback tossed a 44-yard and a 51-yard touchdown pass to the Florida commit, opening the game 14-0.
Daniels finished with 132 yards on a perfect 5-of-5 performance and two touchdowns. Dylan Wittke added the other 95 yards through the air.
The Wolves extended the lead 37-0 at halftime, adding three scores in the second quarter that included safety and a 60-yard kickoff return for a touchdown from Bond.
Victor Venn led the Wolves' ground game with five rushing for 76 yards and a touchdown -- a 47-yard run in the third quarter. Jaylen Neal rushed three times for 54 yards and a touchdown.
