FLOWERY BRANCH — The Flowery Branch girls jumped on No. 1 Jefferson and never relented in a 46-40 win on Saturday afternoon at home to split the season series.
Shaina Kriews scored 12 points and Bella Brick added 11 to lead the Lady Falcons in the win.
The Branch opened the game on a 12-5 run and pushed it up to a 10-point advantage by halftime, 28-18.
Jefferson, however, cut the lead to 33-26 after three and tried to rally in the fourth quarter but fell short.
Alaina Veiga netted 10 points and Ashlea Locke finished with 8 points.
The Lady Falcons are in fourth place, two games behind Cedar Shoals.

ST. FRANCIS 51
After a back-and-forth opening period, Class 6A No. 2 Buford held Class A-Private No. 3 St. Francis to just six points to blow open the game 34-24 and set the pace for the second half.
Ava Grace Watson led the Lady Wolves (17-0) with 23 points, Tatum Ozment scored 11 and Sara Viti hit for 9 points.
ELBERT COUNTY 61,
DAWSON COUNTY 60
Class 2A No. 2 Elbert County held off a fierce comeback to beat the Lady Tigers on Saturday in Dawsonville.
Madi Anglin scored 27 points to lead the Lady Tigers. Kirklyn Porter had 14, and Mariah Benson had 13 points.
Niya Moon was the top score for Elbert with 21 points.
RABUN COUNTY 68,
TOWNS COUNTY 44
The Lady Wildcats had four players in double figures to help lead them past Towns County in Hiawassee on Saturday.
Gracie Deetz led the way with 16 points, while Sophie Woodard, Carley Haban and Lucy Hood all scored 12 points each.
Woodard also had five rebounds and six steals in the non-region win.

Callie Dale scored 18 points and Alexis Burce had 16 to lead the Lady Vikings (13-6, 4-3 Region 8-4A) past North Oconee at home on Saturday.
