GAINESVILLE — Lakeview Academy snapped a five-game losing streak with a solid 65-56 win over George Walton Academy in a non-region game on Saturday at home.
The Lady Lions (3-12) stormed out to a 24-8 lead after the first quarter and never looked back. They led 40-27 at halftime and took a 50-38 lead into the fourth quarter.
The Lady Bulldogs staged a rally in the final period, but Lakeview was able to hold them off down the stretch.
Joelle Snyder had a game-high 29 points, 15 coming from the free-throw line, to pave Lakeview Academy. Sydney Corbin added 14 points, Madi Loggins had 7 points and Sara Nivens 5 points for the Lady Lions.
Lakeview Academy is off until Thursday when it jumps back into Region 6-A Private action at home against Pinecrest Academy.

Lauren Teasley scored 21 points and Sadie Roach had 10 to lead the Lady Red Elephants past East Hall on the road Saturday.
Both teams got off to a slow start in the first half but Gainesville exploded for 20 points in the third quarter to outpace the Lady Vikings.
