Four facing drug charges after arrest at Commerce hotel

Four people were arrested on drug charges Wednesday after authorities executed a search warrant and seized $50,000 worth of illegal drugs at the Howard Johnson hotel in Commerce.  

According to a press release from the Appalachian Regional Drug Enforcement Office, information developed by the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office led to the execution of the search warrant by ARDEO agents and deputies with the Banks County Sheriff’s Office.

During the execution of the search warrant, agents and deputies seized 483.5 prescriptions pills, three kilograms of methamphetamine, four ounces of heroin, nine ounces of marijuana and $12,700 of US Currency, according to the release. The illegal drugs seized during the investigation had a street value of $50,000.

According to the release, the following four people were arrested during the execution of the search warrant:

William Turney, 39, of Homer. Homer was charged with Trafficking Heroin, Trafficking Methamphetamine, Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Substance with Intent to Distribute and Possession of Schedule IV Controlled Substance with Intent to Distribute.  

Kristina Hubbard, 29, of Bethlehem. Hubbard was charged with Trafficking Heroin, Trafficking Methamphetamine, Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Substance with Intent to Distribute and Possession of Schedule IV Controlled Substance with Intent to Distribute.    

Gary Henson, 38, of Toccoa. Henson was charged with Trafficking Heroin, Trafficking Methamphetamine, Possession of Heroin, Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Substance with Intent to Distribute and Possession of Schedule IV Controlled Substance with Intent to Distribute and Felony Obstruction of a Police Officer. 

Sarah Elizabeth Sims, 34, of Hull. Sims was charged with Trafficking Heroin, Trafficking Methamphetamine, Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Substance with Intent to Distribute and Possession of Schedule IV Controlled Substance with Intent to Distribute.

The release says the investigation is still active and is ongoing.
