A Winter Storm Watch has been issued for parts of North Georgia Thursday evening through Friday evening. According to the National Weather Service in Atlanta, expect heavy mixed precipitation transitioning to light snow. Snow accumulations could be as much as 2 inches, with higher elevations seeing even more. Ice is also a possibility, so be prepared.
Included in the warning are Rabun, Towns, Union, Fannin, Gilmer, Pickens, Dawson, Lumpkin and White Counties.
Be cautioned that travel could be impaired. Hazardous conditions could impact Friday’s commute, both in the morning and evening.
