An Oakwood store owner fired a gun during a confrontation with two people who physically attacked the owner and an employee.
No one was shot, but Raul Antonio Rios was injured. He and Esmeralda Martinez-Valdez went to Boost Mobile in the College Square shopping center around 5 p.m. Monday and attacked the owner and employee, Oakwood police Lt. Todd Templeton said in an email.
Rios suffered a minor injury in the incident, but Oakwood police said the injury was not believed to be the result of the gunshot. Rios refused medical treatment at the scene.
Rios and Martinez-Valdez have each been charged with assault. The investigation is continuing, and police said additional charges are possible.
