Georgia quarterback JT Daniels has been medically cleared and will be available to play on Saturday against No. 8 Auburn in Athens, according to Dawgs247.com.

Georgia coach Kirby Smart made the announcement on Monday, and said Daniels will have to win the starting job in practice this week.

Daniels torn his ACL in the 2019 season opener against Fresno State and had a second procedure done late last year, according to Smart. Initially he was supposed to be cleared to play by the Arkansas game but was not.

D'Wan Mathis started at quarterback against Arkansas but was pulled by halftime. Stetson Bennett IV took over for Mathis and guided the Bulldogs to a 37-10 comeback win over the Razorbacks.

As a freshmen at USC, Daniels passed for 2,672 yards, 14 touchdowns and 10 interceptions.

Former USC quarterback JT Daniels has been cleared to play, according to reports from Dawgs247.com
