Volleyball: Gainesville takes road sweep

DAWSONVILLE — The Gainesville girls volleyball team continued its solid play taking a road sweep on Wednesday.

The Lady Red Elephants improved to 21-7 on the season after spiking Banks County 25-15 and 25-8 and then holding off host Dawson County 25-21 and 25-15.

Gainesville was led by Lauren Ware, who recorded 3 aces, 11 kills, and 4 digs. Ansley Turner added 11 kills and 7 digs, Isabella Garrish had 3 aces, 27 assists, and 5 digs, and  Lauren Teasley had 10 kills and 4 blocks for the Lady Red Elephants. Caroline Reisman had 4 aces, 6 assists, and 7 digs, Kerrigan Gruhn had 5 kills, Callie Patterson added an ace, 3 kills, and 2 blocks, Margaret Embry had 2 aces and 4 digs and Savannah Brock had 4 digs.

The Lady Red Elephants return to region play at home next Tuesday against North Forsyth.
