Executive Order renews COVID-19 restrictions through September

Posted 6:36PM on Tuesday 15th September 2020 ( 3 years ago )

Governor Brian Kemp announced Tuesday that he is extending current COVID-19 restrictions. The Executive Order takes effect on Wednesday, September 16 and runs through the end of this month.

This means there are no changes to the mandatory restrictions in place for the operation of businesses, including restaurants, bars, bowling alleys, salons, barbers, amusement parks, event venues, etc… The local option for requiring face coverings remains in place. There is also a ban in place of gatherings of 50 or more, unless social distancing is maintained.

Governor Kemp also addressed long-term care facilities. While the shelter-in-place remains for the medically fragile, the new order will allow in-person visitation at nursing homes and assisted living facilities, as long as it follows the Department of Public Health’s restrictions outlines in their “Long-Term Care Facilities Reopening Guidance.”
