Traffic stop in Forsyth County leads to drug arrest

Over 5 pounds of methamphetamine was seized at a recent traffic stop in Forsyth County. The vehicle was stopped for a window tint violation when a K9 named Xena alerted deputies to drugs in the car. According to a Facebook post from the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office, a search of the vehicle revealed the meth located in the backseat floorboard. The driver, 53-year-old David Lee Smith of Etowah, TN, was charged with trafficking methamphetamine. He is currently being held without bond at the Forsyth County Jail.
