DAHLONEGA — Franklin County did its work in the second half to cruise to a 33-3 win over Lumpkin County at The Burial Grounds on Friday.
The Lions' Chris Goode scored on a 26-yard run late in the first quarter to start the flurry of first-half points. Franklin added a field goal with 7 seconds left in the quarter to go up 10-0.
In the second quarter, the Lions reeled off 23 unanswered points, including a 33-yard interception return for a touchdown, a safety and a 60-yard kickoff return.
Lumpkin's Marcu Remillard tacked on the Indians' only points on a 35-yard field goal.
Cooper Scott was 8-for-21 passing for 48 yards. He also carried the ball three times for three-yard. Tavion Lawerence had seven carries for 32 yards.
