SUGAR HILL – The Buford softball team's number was two on Friday against region foe Lanier.
The Lady Wolves (7-2, 4-0 Region 8-6A) scored two runs in the first, second, fourth and seventh innings to roll past the Longhorns, 8-4, on the road.
Junior Taylor Malvin and senior Emmy Hall drove in three runs each to lead Buford in their fourth Region 8-6A win.
Meanwhile, freshman Madison Pickens was 2 for 3, with one RBI, a double and scored two runs.
Sophomore hurler Chloe Hatcher (2-0) tossed 5 and 1/3 innings, allowing four earned runs on six hits while striking out three. Freshman Emma Grace earned the save, pitching 1/3 of an inning, shutting out the Longhorns and striking out one.
Buford will host North Forsyth on Monday at the Buford Softball Complex.

The Lady Trojans’ bats were on fire Friday as they racked up 17 runs to blow past West Hall, 17-0 in Oakwood.
North Hall (3-7, 2-1 Region 7-3A) jumped out to a 14-run first-inning lead, led by Macy Slater, Caroline Cape, Kinsely Kirby, Kristina Peach, Sam Rooker and Kristen Dowdy, driving in one run each in the first.
Waters grabbed the win in the circle, pitching three scoreless innings, allowing one hit and striking out four.
North Hall travels to Cherokee Bluff on Monday. Game time is set for 6 p.m.
