OAKWOOD — The West Hall girls volleyball team improved to 9-1 after taking win over Union County and Chestatee on Tuesday.
The Lady Spartans needed three tough sets to hold off Union County 25-22, 21-25, 15-13 and then rallied from a set down to beat Chestatee 25-27, 25-13, 15-12.
Natalie Vazquez led West Hall with 20 digs and 3 aces. Briana MacGillivray had 10 kills and Kaleigh McFarland and Chloe Radich had 7 kills each for the Lady Spartans.
West Hall next will take on Madison County on Thursday.
BLUFF SPLITS WITH HAB CENTRAL, N. FORSYTH
Cherokee Bluff rallied to beat Habersham Cnetral in three sets but could not complete a rally in a three-set loss to North Forsyth Tusday.
The Lady Bears won a close match with Habersham 22-25, 25-20, 15-7 in the openingmatch but fell to the Lady Raiders Set 1: 27-25, 16-25, 15-12 in the nightcap.
Sage Sutulovich had a huge night recording 18 kills, 3 aces, 8 digs, and 2 blocks to lead Cherokee Bluff. Emma Staples had 14 kills, 5 aces, and 6 digs and Tristan Boling had 18 assists and 7 digs for the Lady Bears.
Madie Levine added 11 assists, Laura Ross had 5 kills and 5 aces, Camille Godfrey had 6 digs, and Grace Blythe Cornett registered 5 kills and 4 blocks. Abbi Hutchins had big night on the defensive end with 22 digs to go with 5 aces. Brandyn Peterson had 2 kills and 1 block and Finley Millwood added 6 kills for Cherokee Bluff.
JOHNSON, BRANCH GET WINS
Kali Lyons led the Lady Knights to a win over East Hall 25-10, 25-10 with nine assists, four kills, and four aces. Johnson, however, dropped its second match 25-20, 25-14 to Flowery Branch.
Alexa Berry finished the night with three kills, four blocks, and three aces for Johnson. Caroline Odell had five assists and two aces and Jenna Degroot had two kills and two blocks for the Lady Knights.
