A Gwinnett County police officer who was reportedly captured on video using a taser on a woman has been fired.

Gwinnett County Police spokesman Corporal Collin Flynn said Michael Oxford was terminated Friday following an internal investigation.

"When we began looking at the conduct of Office Oxford, we determined it did not match the code of conduct we hold all officers to in the department," Flynn said.

The three part investigation revealed Oxford had prior incidents that impacted the department's decision, Flynn said.

The video footage of the most recent incident in Loganville shows Oxford approach a woman who had been accused by her neighbor of property damage. She began yelling, and Oxford warned her on the video multiple times he would tase her before he did so.

The video went viral on social media platforms prior to the investigation.
