Woman injured after vehicle strikes tree, overturns in Banks County

The Georgia State Patrol is investigating a single-car wreck that resulted in multiple injuries to the driver Monday afternoon.

At 3:25 p.m. Monday, Aug. 3, units from Banks County Fire/EMS responded to Ga. 164 and Wilson Bridge Road, Commerce, for a reported wreck with injuries.

Emergency personnel arrived to find a vehicle that had left the roadway and struck a tree before overturning, said Banks County Fire/EMS Chief Steve Nichols.

“One patient, a female in her 60s, was trapped in the vehicle and was extricated by Fire/EMS personnel,” Nichols said. “The patient was stabilized on the scene and transported by ambulance to Northeast Georgia Medical Center, Gainesville, in stable condition with multiple injuries.”

The incident was terminated at 5:47 p.m.
