The City of Baldwin and City Manager Jerry Neace are going their separate ways.

The city council voted to approve a separation agreement and release of Neace following closed session at a called meeting Thursday night.

Neace formerly served as mayor, resigning to take the city manager position on a four-year contract in March 2018.

Further details of that separation were not immediately disclosed.

Mayor Joe Elam also announced the council has named Bill Anastasio as the finalist for the police chief position. Officer Matt Nall has been serving as interim chief since the departure of former Police Chief Charles Webb in April.

This story will be updated.
