COVID-19 cases in Georgia increase by over 3,000 Sunday

Georgia once again saw an increase of over 3,000 cases of coronavirus on Sunday, according to numbers released by the Georgia Department of Public Health.

3,251 new cases were reported Sunday afternoon, with 49 new hospitalizations and five new deaths.

The total number of cases in the state have topped the 140,000 mark, at 143,123 cases statewide. There have also been 15,010 hospitalizations, and 2,822 ICU admissions because of COVID-19 in Georgia.

A total of 3,173 deaths from coronavirus are being reported by the Georgia DPH.

Gwinnett, Fulton, DeKalb, Cobb and Hall counties have had the most cases of coronavirus in the state. Gwinnett has 13,444 confirmed cases, while Hall County has 4,394 cases.
