Another regional tradition goes by the wayside as the coronavirus pandemic continues. Organizers with the Georgia Mountain Fair have announced the 70th annual event has been canceled.

Typically, the Georgia Mountain Fair in Hiawassee is one of the biggest events of late summer in the North Georgia Mountains. Because the event traditionally draws large crowds, organizers have rescheduled most activities for 2021. However, craft vendors have been rescheduled for the Georgia Mountain Fall Festival from Oct. 9-17, 2020. The plan is to reschedule the annual parade for fall, as well. There will be no carnival midway for the fall festival.

To find out more, see the Georgia Mountain Fair Facebook page or follow this link to the Georgia Mountain Fairgrounds website.
