Charges are pending after a fatal accident in northern Hall County on Thursday evening.

Alto resident Michael Phillip Harbold, 66, died from injuries sustained in the crash, which the State Patrol says happened around 5:45 p.m.

"A Chevrolet pick-up truck driven by 55-year-old Jeffery Garmon of Lula was turning left from Mud Creek Road onto Ga. 365 southbound," said Cpl. J Hedden with State Patrol Post 6 in Gainesville. "[Garmon] failed to yield while crossing the northbound lanes of Ga. 365, and struck a northbound Honda motorcycle operated by...Harbold."

Hedden said Harbold was transported to Northeast Georgia Medical Center, where he later died from his injuries. Garmon was not injured in the crash.

"Charges are pending upon completion of the crash investigation by the Specialized Collision Reconstruction Team," Hedden said.

No other information has been released at this time.
