The Georgia DNR and Hall County Sheriff's Office are still searching for a potential drowning victim on Lake Lanier as of Sunday afternoon.

According to Casey Ramsey from the Hall County EMA, divers are searching for a 28-year-old male near Harbor's Landing.

The initial call about the incident came into Hall County 911 at 3:58 p.m. Saturday, after the male reportedly jumped into the water and did not resurface.

The search for the individual resumed Sunday at 6:00 a.m. but was put on hold around 4 p.m. due to heavy boat traffic, according to Mark McKinnon from the DNR. Search efforts will resume at midnight Sunday, with sector scan sonar and a remote operated vehicle, according to McKinnon.

Prior to the search being put on hold, DNR Game Wardens started using sonar around 6:30 a.m. Sunday, while divers from the Hall County Sheriff's Office started diving around 8:00 a.m.

This story is developing. More information will be added as it becomes available.
