Amazon will open three new logistics centers this year in Georgia, one of which will be in Buford.
The goal is for the stations to speed up delivery capabilities for metro-Atlanta area customers, according to Tim Evans with the Greater Hall Chamber of Commerce. It will be located on 1.1 million square feet, off of Lanier Islands Parkway
Amazon representative Ashley Lansdale said the delivery stations "power the last mile" of Amazon's order fulfillment process. Packages leave fulfillment and sortation centers and head to delivery stations, where the packages are loaded onto delivery vehicles.
“We are excited to continue to invest in the state of Georgia with three new delivery stations that will provide efficient delivery for customers, and create hundreds of job opportunities for the talented workforce," said Lansdale.
The other two delivery station locations will be in Atlanta and Fairburn and will join roughly 150 stations in the U.S. The Buford/Hall County location should employ about 100 people, Evans said.
Those interested in applying for a job with Amazon at one of the new locations can do so online.
