Lumpkin County residents will see a change in available recycling sites as of Wednesday, July 1.

The County Board of Commissioners voted to shift recycling services to Mark Robinson Hauling, the same company that manages the county transfer station. That means the transfer station at 490 Barlow Road will now be the only recycling drop-off for the entire county.

Commissioners said in a social media post the change will reduce recycling expenses for county taxpayers.

Recyclable materials may be dropped at the transfer station between 8 a.m. and 4:40 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Acceptable recycling materials include corrugated cardboard, office paper and paperboard, plastic jugs  #1 and #2 with lids removed, tin cans and aluminum cans.
