The Habitat for Humanity ReStore in Hall County will reopen next month following an extended closure due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The store on Murphy Boulevard in Gainesville will reopen for in-person shopping on Tuesday, July 7 at 10 a.m.
There are a few new house rules, though. Masks will be required for entry and only 25 people will be allowed inside at one time, including staff and volunteers. Additionally, sanitizing wipes will be provided for carts and no public restrooms will be available.
The ReStore is a thrift shop run by the non-profit, allowing community members to help out the Habitat mission by either donating their pre-loved home goods, or shopping for something new-to-you at the store.
While sheltering in place, ReStore staff updated their Facebook page with the overflow of merchandise available and set up an online store and curbside pick up.
Habitat for Humanity is best know for building homes for disadvantaged families, allowing them to pay a portion of the cost with sweat equity. The Hall County chapter has a subdivision, Copper Glen, of just Habitat families off Athens Highway.
