DOTHAN, Ala. — Not even playing up a division can slow down Hudson Justus.

The 8-year-old Gainesville golfer recently finished sixth in the 10-and-under division of the Future Masters tournament played at the Par 70 Dothan Country Club course.

Justus, just one of five 8-year-olds in the 43-player field, finished with a two-day total 77 after firing a 39 on Monday and a 38 on Tuesday. He was selected as part of the field based on his past playing experiences and previous tournament finishes.

It also was the first tournament for Justus playing without a caddy, uually his father, White County Assistant Superintendent Scott Justus.

Justus, along with the rest of the field, had to make their own club choices, putting lines, and demonstrate behavior management as part of the tournament process.

Hudson Justus, 8-years-old, finished 6th in the 10-and-under Future Masters tournament in Dothan, Ala. on Tuesday, June 23.
