Public asked for help locating suspect in Gainesville hit-and-run

Gainesvillle police are searching for a suspect involved in a hit-and-run case that left one victim with serious injuries.

The incident happened early Monday morning on Atlanta Highway near Ray Street, roughly between Llantera Ramobo and a Chevron gas station.

An online post made by the Gainesville Police Department estimated a potential timeline of between 2:00 a.m. and 3:30 a.m.

"The pedestrian was possibly struck in the roadway and was found by a passerby," the post said. "The pedestrian is an adult male and is currently in critical condition at the hospital."

The public is being asked for help in identifying and locating the driver who was driving the suspect vehicle at the time of the collision.
