RABBITTOWN — Jill Ayers has been hired as the new tennis coach at East Hall High School, according to a release from Athletics Director Adam Rich Friday afternoon.

Ayers will lead both the girls and boys programs.

“I have a passion for teaching, as well as tennis, which led to my drive in becoming the Head Tennis Coach at East Hall High School,” Ayers said. “My athletes will find that I am a competitive, passionate teacher and coach who loves developing players into their full potential.”

Ayers, a bronze medalist in the Georgia games in 1995, earned a tennis scholarship to Brewton Parker College.

“Coach Ayers is passionate about tennis and has an abundance of knowledge regarding the game,” said Rich. “She is an incredible asset to East Hall High School. We are confident the program is in good hands.”

Ayers has taught math for 13 years at East Hall and has a son, Tydus.
