Two arrested in Habersham County drug bust

The Habersham County Sheriff's Office has released the names of two individuals arrested in a recent drug bust. 

Cody Ray Bennett, age 28, and Jonathan Tyler Norton, age 22, were arrested on May 28 at a traffic stop in Alto after they were found with drugs. They were both charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of a firearm, intent to distribute and other charges. 

According to a release from the Appalachian Drug Enforcement Office, which assisted with the investigation alongside the Habersham County Sheriff's Office, a full list of their charges are as follows:

Cody Ray Bennett - Possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, Possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, Driving while license suspended.

Jonathan Tyler Norton - Possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, Possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.

Both are still in the Habersham County jail. This is still an active investigation.
