Reward offered in Dawson County arson case

State fire investigators are offering a reward for a fire they believe was deliberately set this past weekend in Dawson County.

According to a press release from the State Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner's Office, a mobile home at 210 Hampton Drive was found burning around 3 p.m. Saturday, May 16. The fire had been set in the living room of the residence. There were no reports of injuries.

"The 960 square-foot, 20-year-old mobile home was complete destroyed by the blaze," said Commissioner John F. King. “If you have any information on the individual or individuals responsible, I ask that you call my Fire Investigations Unit at 1-800-282-5804.”

Calls are taken 24 hours a day and callers can choose to remain anonymous. A reward of up to $10,000 is being offered for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for the fire. 

King’s Fire Investigations Unit is assisting the Dawson County Fire Department with the investigation.
