A Buford man wanted for a string of vehicle break-ins, as well as running from authorities after a related traffic stop, turned himself in to deputies at the Hall County Jail on Thursday.

At last report, Joshua Cole Johnsa, 26, remains behind bars, charged with two counts of felony entering an automobile, and one count each of theft by taking, obstruction of an officer and criminal trespass.

"According to the preliminary Hall County Sheriff’s Office investigation, Johnsa entered an SUV during the early morning hours of Tuesday, May 12, at a residence in the 5,000-block of Ashley Falls Lane," explained Sheriff's Office spokesman Derreck Booth in a Monday afternoon update. "While at the same address, he stole a bicycle worth more than $5,000, causing approximately $500 damage to a bicycle rack."

Johnsa is also believed to have entered a vehicle at a second location in the 5,000-block of nearby London Trace.

Authorities were notified shortly thereafter, and Johnsa was nearly apprehended not far from the second scene.

"While Sheriff’s Deputies were investigating the incidents, he jumped out of his vehicle and ran on foot from a traffic stop on London Trace," Booth explained.

Arrest warrants for Johnsa were obtained the day after the break-ins, and he turned himself in the following day.

The case remains under investigation by the Hall County Sheriff's Office.
