A female driver was flown for medical care after her car left the roadway and ended up in a creek Sunday morning.

Habersham County E-9-1-1 received a call from the driver just before 8:30 a.m. the driver reported she was off the road and in the water but unsure where she was.

“She did say possibly The Orchard Road,” said Habersham County Emergency Services Director Chad Black. “Engines 17, 9, Med 9, Battalion and Captain 1 responded to locate the accident at Orchard Road and Arrowhead, with vehicle in a creek.”

The female was still in the car with injuries and was confused as to place, time and other questions asked by responders, Black said.

“Due to it being on the far north end and extended extrication and transport time to Northeast Georgia Medical Center Level II Trauma Center, AirLife was requested and responded. The patient was extricated and transported to NGMC by AirLife 2.”

Georgia State Patrol is investigating.

Habersham County Emergency Services units returned to service just before 10 a.m.
