Authorities are investigating after a 2-year-old was hit by a vehicle in Gainesville Saturday afternoon.
In a social media post Saturday, the Gainesville Police Department said the incident happened on Auburn Avenue. Police Sergeant Kevin Holbrook said the child was taken to Northeast Georgia Medical Center in what he described as serious condition.
Holbrook said the child was hit while at a residence at around 1:15 and the preliminary investigation shows the child moved into the path of the vehicle.
No other details have been released.
